THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University steps out of the Sooner Athletic Conference to meet Oklahoma Wesleyan
• This contest represents the Stars' only non-conference encounter on the 2020-21 schedule
 
ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City rolled to a 92-58 season-opening victory over Central Christian (Kan.) on Saturday in McPherson, Kan. The Stars played for the first time since March 7, 2020 (322 days)
Andi Pierce accumulated 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Pierce, a 5-foot-10 senior from Garber, Okla., shot 6-for-12 from the field and 7-for-10 from the free-throw line. Pierce saw her first game action since Dec. 9, 2018 for Omaha against CSU Bakersfield
Erika Ankney, a 5-9 junior from Harrah, Okla., supplied the Stars with 18 points, six assists and three steals. She hit 6 of her 12 field-shot tries and 4 of 5 free-throw shots
• The Stars compiled the No. 1 opposing field-goal percentage (32.2 percent) among NAIA Division I last season. Lockhart sank an OCU single-season record 117 treys, which led the country. To see how the Stars rated among NAIA Division I statistically, click here
• Oklahoma City holds the No. 5 ranking for the second consecutive NAIA poll. Oklahoma City tops the NAIA with 264 consecutive appearances in the top 25 dating back to 1997-98
• OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017 and finished as national runner-up four times (2003, 2004, 2005 and 2019). Since 1998-99, Oklahoma City owns a .884 winning percentage with a 678-89 mark
The Stars were projected to finish second in the preseason SAC poll. OCU captured the Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season title for the 20th time, fourth year in a row and 10th time in 11 years in 2019-20. OCU has a 240-23 record (.913 winning percentage) within SAC play since 2007-08
• The Stars have a 2-0 all-time record against Oklahoma Wesleyan with both meetings happening in a home-and-home set in 2006-07. In the last meeting, OCU pounded Oklahoma Wesleyan 84-45 on Nov. 21, 2006 in Bartlesville, Okla. Zanita Johnson and Alexandra Kotta topped the Stars with 17 points each
 
ABOUT THE LADY EAGLES
• Oklahoma Wesleyan completed its season series against Ottawa (Kan.) with a 76-65 win on Saturday in Bartlesville, Okla. The Lady Eagles (8-9, 7-8 KCAC) overcame an early 13-4 deficit, shot 50 percent from the floor in the second period and nailed six second-half treys
• ShaRae Frazier, a 5-9 senior, had 15 points and five rebounds to propel Oklahoma Wesleyan. Frazier sank 7-for-9 from the field. Frazier averages a 7.5 points and 6.1 rebounds a game
• The Lady Eagles have canned 175 3-pointers this season to rank fourth nationally
• Oklahoma Wesleyan took sixth in the preseason Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference poll

MEET THE COACHES
Brett Tahah (first season with OCU)
• Tahah became the first former Oklahoma City player to take over the program as head coach. Tahah (nee' Bates) helped the Stars advance to two NAIA Division I Championship Tournament Fab Four appearances, two conference tournament championships, one SAC regular-season title and an .863 winning percentage (63-10) from 2008-10
• Accumulated a 117-50 head-coaching record (.701 winning percentage) with two state tournament semifinal berths in six years at Oklahoma high schools Frontier, Elgin, Hobart and Lookeba-Sickles
• Tahah coached eight all-staters and collected two regional coach of the year honors on the prep level
• During her college career, Tahah tallied 1,227 points and 178 3-pointers and became league player of the year

Grace Hadley (28-28, third season with Oklahoma Wesleyan)
• Hadley took over as Oklahoma Wesleyan head coach in the midst of the 2018-19 season
• Played the final three seasons of her college career at Southwestern Christian
• Started her college career at Southwestern (Kan.), where she contributed to an NAIA Division II Championship Tournament quarterfinals appearance
