THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University squares off with Southwestern Christian in a special Super Tuesday matchup
• The Stars meet Southwestern Christian in the second of two Tuesday tilts in OCU's Sooner Athletic Conference slate this season
 
ABOUT THE STARS
• The Stars fell short to 20th-ranked Texas Wesleyan 73-69 on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas. Darrion Willies hit free throws to tie the game 60-60 with 5:35 left, and Rashaun Coleman nailed a 3-pointer to cut Texas Wesleyan's lead to two points with 34 seconds to go for OCU (12-11, 1-1 SAC)
• A.J. Cockrell, a 6-8 senior from Tulsa, Okla., ignited Oklahoma City with 19 points while shooting 8-for-9 from the floor. Cockrell collects 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds a contest with a 66.7 percent field-goal percentage
• Trae Bryant, a 6-foot senior from Wilmington, N.C., posted 12 points. Bryant supplies OCU with 13.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game

• The Stars have been slotted to take fifth place in the SAC according to the preseason coaches poll. OCU owns 13 SAC regular-season championships and 10 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City reached the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament for the 25th time last season and has won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008
• OCU has put together a 12-3 all-time mark vs. Southwestern Christian
• The Stars rolled to an 85-65 victory over Southwestern Christian on Jan. 14 at Abe Lemons Arena. Bryant keyed the win with 23 points, four assists and 7-for-11 shooting from 3-point land as OCU collected a season-best 12 steals
 
ABOUT THE EAGLES
• Southwestern Christian took a 98-60 loss to 15th-ranked Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Saturday in Waxahachie, Texas. The Eagles (13-9, 6-8 SAC) allowed 95 or more points for the fifth time this season
• Ron Washington, a 6-8 senior, had 16 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of 2019-20. Washington averages 14.6 points and 6.6 rebounds a game while shooting 55.8 percent from the field
• Southwestern Christian leads the NAIA with a 78 percent team free-throw percentage
• The Eagles took the eighth spot in the preseason SAC coaches poll

MEET THE COACHES
Hank Aldous (first season with OCU)
• Served as graduate assistant at the University of Denver prior to coming to OCU
• Became Southern Athletic Association player of the year as a senior at Hendrix (Ark.) during his playing career
• Aldous led Hendrix to two conference titles and its first conference tournament crown ever, becoming the SAA Tournament most valuable player. Hendrix made its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament
 
Brandon Rollins (first season with Southwestern Christian)
• Rollins moved from Mid-America Christian to Southwestern Christian over the summer to take his first head-coaching position after spending four seasons on the MACU staff, where he helped lead the Evangels to the 2016 NAIA Division I national championship
• Prior to MACU, he spent one season as an assistant coach at SCU, and one season as an assistant coach at Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City
• Rollins played collegiately at SCU, appearing in 89 games for the Eagles after they joined the NAIA in 2010-11
