• Oklahoma City University continues Sooner Athletic Conference play against Langston

ABOUT THE STARS
• OCU held onto a 76-71 victory over Central Christian (Kan.) on Thursday in McPherson, Kan. The Stars (11-9, 4-7 SAC) retained the lead after Central Christian reduced OCU's 11-point lead to one point with 3:50 left
Anthony Davis, a 6-foot-7 senior from Lewisville, Texas, posted his second consecutive double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Davis has averaged 17.3 points and 7.8 rebounds a game over the past six games since Jan. 14. Davis tallies 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds with a 51.5 percent field-goal percentage
Kealon Clayborne, a 6-3 junior from Cedar Hill, Texas, and A.J. Cockrell, a 6-8 senior from Tulsa, Okla., added 13 points and three rebounds each. Cockrell contributes 10.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 64.5 percent from the field
• Oklahoma City rank 11th in NAIA Division I while allowing foes to shoot 30.6 percent from 3-point range. Compare OCU with the rest of the NAIA statistically this season here
• The Stars have been slotted to take fifth place in the SAC according to the preseason coaches poll. OCU owns 13 SAC regular-season championships and 10 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City reached the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament for the 25th time last season and has won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008
• OCU has a 22-6 all-time record against Langston
• Langston rallied for an 88-85 win over the Stars on Jan. 2 in Langston, Okla. Davis fueled OCU with 28 points, 11 rebounds and four 3-pointers
 
ABOUT THE LIONS
• Southwestern Christian clipped Langston 75-73 on Thursday in Langston, Okla. Derek Dantzler-Fulner beat the buzzer with a putback to down the Lions (11-9, 4-7 SAC)
• Alfonzo Anderson, a 6-3 senior, had 21 points and eight rebounds. Anderson averages 13.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game
• The Lions pick up 11.90 offensive rebounds as a team to rank 21st in NAIA Division I
• Langston was picked to finish ninth in the SAC by conference coaches before the season

MEET THE COACHES
Hank Aldous (first season with OCU)
• Served as graduate assistant at the University of Denver prior to coming to OCU
• Became Southern Athletic Association player of the year as a senior at Hendrix (Ark.) during his playing career
• Aldous
led Hendrix to two conference titles and its first conference tournament crown ever, becoming the SAA Tournament most valuable player. Hendrix made its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament
 

Philip Stitt (first season with Langston)
• Assumed his role with Langston in June after leading Marion Military Institute (Ala.) to a 77-33 record over the past four seasons
• Overall head-coaching record of 226-165 in his 14th year as a head coach with stops at Winston-Salem State (N.C.) and Florida Community College
• His coaching career spans 28 years with stints as an assistant coach at Florida Community College, Jacksonville, Grambling State, Fayetteville State (N.C.), North Carolina A&T State and Florida State College
