• Oklahoma City University concludes its 2019 slate with a non-conference contest against Wiley (Texas)
• In the two schools' last meeting, OCU defeated the Lady Tigers 92-47 on Dec. 31, 2018
 
ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City University prevailed over Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 93-85 on Saturday in San Antonio. OCU (8-0, 2-0 SAC) outrebounded Our Lady of the Lake 47-38 as the Stars hauled in a season-high 21 offensive boards
Mallory Lockhart, a 5-foot-8 sophomore from Keller, Texas, posted a team-high 25 points to go with two assists and two steals. Lockhart averages 17.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists a game with an NAIA leading 4.75 3-point field goals made per contest
NaShyla Hammons, a 6-0 senior from Oklahoma City, provided the Stars with 17 points and 14 rebounds with 11-of-11 shooting from the free throw line. Hammons chips in 7.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 91.7 percent from the charity stripe
• OCU ranks 10th in NAIA Division I in scoring offense with 84.25 points per game. The Stars place fourth in free throw percentage (79.3 percent), seventh in field goal percentage defense (32.1 percent) and eighth in field goal percentage offense (46.7 percent). • Oklahoma City sits at third in the preseason NAIA Division I rankings. The Stars reached the NAIA Tournament for the 22nd consecutive year and for the 25th time overall last season. OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• OCU was chosen tied for first in the SAC preseason coaches' poll. The Stars took their 19th SAC regular-season championship last season
• The Stars' all-time record against Wiley is 2-0
Abby Selzer, a sophomore from Thomas, Okla., picked up a season-high 26 points in last season's victory over Wiley
 
ABOUT THE LADY WILDCATS
• Wiley took care of Dillard, 77-60, behind a dominant fourth quarter on Thursday in Marshall, Texas. The Lady Wildcats (2-4) forced Dillard into 23 turnovers in the win
• Brianna Tolliver, a senior guard, had 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. Tolliver averages 16.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest
• Wiley ranks 17th in the NAIA with a 35.1 percent 3-point field goal percentage
• The Lady Wildcats were selected by Red River Athletic Conference coaches to place sixth in the conference preseason poll
 
MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (123-22, fifth season with OCU)
• Led Stars to a 33-5 season with the SAC regular-season crown and an NAIA DI tournament championship trip in 2018-19
• Overton has coached four all-Americans while at OCU, including Daniela Wallen, the 2017 NAIA DI player of the year, and Daniela Galindo, the 2018 WBCA NAIA player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympic games
• From 1998-2004, Overton served as an assistant for Oklahoma. The Sooners made five NCAA Tournament appearances during that time, with a 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth. He also earned three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament championships throughout his six years
• He has an overall record coaching college women of 145-69 in seven years as a head coach
 
Lenise Stallings (2-4, first season)
• Stallings came to Wiley with five years of NCAA Division I coaching experience, spending the last two seasons as an assistant at Tennessee State University. She developed a 1,000-point scorer who earned Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference
• Prior to Tennessee State, she spent three seasons at her alma mater Mississippi Valley State University as an assistant coach. She helped the program become one of the Top 25 most improved programs in the NCAA
• Stallings played for Mississippi Valley State from 2009-13. She helped the program to a SWAC regular season title and Women's National Invitational Tournament berth in 2011-12
