THE MATCHUPS
• Oklahoma City University plays its first home games of the season in the Oklahoma City Classic
• OCU meets Philander Smith (Ark.) at 8 p.m. Friday, then face Haskell (Kan.) at 5 p.m. Saturday
• Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and OCU students, faculty and staff get into all regular-season OCU home athletics events free with their ID
• When the Stars score 70 points, fans get a 2-for-1 combo coupon for Raising Cane's
 
ABOUT THE STARS
• The Stars crushed LSU-Shreveport 88-60 on Saturday in the Southwestern Assemblies of God Classic in Waxahachie, Texas. OCU (2-0) has now won two straight versus LSU-Shreveport defeating the Pilots, 71-50, on Nov. 10, 2018 in the SAGU Classic
Mallory Lockhart, a 5-foot-8 sophomore from Keller, Texas, led all scorers with 22 points while also grabbing four rebounds. Lockhart posts 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, with a 46.4 percent field goal percentage and a 47.8 percent 3-point percentage
Abby Selzer, a 6-2 sophomore from Thomas, Okla., supplied OCU with 19 points while hitting 7-of-13 shots from the field. Selzer's averages this season are 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game
• The Stars have averaged 23.5 assists per game through their first two contests, sitting at 2nd in NAIA Division I this season. OCU is also fourth in field goal percentage defense (25.0 percent). To see how the Stars stack up to the rest of the NAIA statistically, click here
• Oklahoma City sits at third in the preseason NAIA Division I rankings. The Stars reached the NAIA Tournament for the 22nd consecutive year and for the 25th time overall last season. OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• OCU was chosen tied for first in the SAC preseason coaches' poll. The Stars took their 19th SAC regular-season championship last season
• The Stars turned away Philander Smith 71-59 on Nov. 16, 2018 in the Oklahoma City Classic at Abe Lemons Arena. OCU is 2-0 all-time versus the Panthers
• Oklahoma City downed Haskell 70-56 on Dec. 10, 2016 in Lawrence, Kan. The Stars also lead the all-time series with the Indians, 2-0
 
ABOUT THE LADY PANTHERS
• Philander Smith took a 93-67 win over Texas A&M-Texarkana on Tuesday in Texarkana, Texas. The Lady Panthers (6-0) continued their undefeated season with the landslide victory and have won all six of their contests by 16 or more points
• Terralyn Dominick, a 5-5 senior, leads Philander Smith with 17.3 points per game this season. She also averages 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 steals per contest. She sparked the Panthers with 20 points and four steals against Crowley's Ridge (Ark.) on Nov. 7, 2019 in Little Rock
• Philander Smith ranks fourth in the NAIA this season in turnover margin (+17.40)
• The Lady Panthers were selected fifth out of eight schools in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference preseason poll
 
ABOUT THE INDIANS
• Haskell lost their third straight contest Tuesday in a 79-54 defeat versus Kansas Wesleyan in Lawrence, Kan. The Indians (3-5) got outscored 43-19 in the deciding second half
• Sierra Penn, a 5-4 senior, led Haskell with nine points on 3-of-12 from 3-point territory. Penn averages 15.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game this season
• Tiana Guillory, a 5-9 junior, leads the Indians with 19.3 points per game during the season. She also accounts for 6.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.9 steals per contest
 
MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (117-22, fifth season with OCU)
• Led Stars to a 33-5 season with the SAC regular-season crown and an NAIA DI tournament championship trip in 2018-19
• Overton has coached four all-Americans while at OCU, including Daniela Wallen, the 2017 NAIA DI player of the year, and Daniela Galindo, the 2018 WBCA NAIA player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympic games
• From 1998-2004, Overton served as an assistant for Oklahoma. The Sooners made five NCAA Tournament appearances during that time, with a 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth. He also earned three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament championships throughout his six years
 
Brandon Greenwood (142-151, 13th season with Philander Smith)
• Led Philander Smith to 16-14 showing and 7-7 GCAC record, taking fifth place in the final conference standings
• Spent a year as assistant men's basketball coach at Philander Smith before taking over women's program
 
Shane Flanagan (ninth season with Haskell)
• Flanagan begins his ninth year at Haskell. He coached under his father, Don Flanagan for five years at New Mexico
• Prior to entering the college arena, Flanagan coached at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque where they had one state championship

• Oklahoma City University athletics provides live and on-demand audio, stats and video of its contests on OCU's Stretch portal. Cost to watch the game is $7.95 per game, $34.95 for a men's basketball season pass and $79.95 for an all-season pass in 2018-19
• Alex Freedman will provide the play-by-play on Friday. In just his second season with the Oklahoma City Dodgers, Freedman was recognized by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters and won the 2013 award for "Best Play-By-Play". He previously spent three seasons as the Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations for the High Desert Mavericks, the California League affiliate of the Seattle Mariners
• Andrew Himes will provide the play-by-play on Saturday. Himes enters his ninth season as the voice of the Stars and has been broadcasting OCU basketball for 12 years starting on color commentary as an OCU student
• Fans can access regular-season broadcasts from NAIA institutions as well as from NAIA Championships postseason contests via Stretch Internet through custom apps on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV.
