Stars blank Oklahoma Wesleyan 55-0

Holman, McGowan of OCU pin foes Friday

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University crushed Oklahoma Wesleyan 55-0 on Friday night at the Mueller Sports Center.
The Stars posted their ninth shutout and reached 50 points for the seventh time in program history. Oklahoma City, ranked sixth in NAIA men's wrestling, went to 2-0 in duals.
OCU's Connor Holman took the fall over Cullen Ferguson at 149 pounds in 19 seconds. Holman, a sophomore from Choctaw, Okla., opened the season with two pins. Holman provided the Stars with a 24-0 advantage.
Jon McGowan of the Stars rolled to a fall in 6:30 in the 157-pound bout over Cody Cooper.
Kaden Truelove, a senior from Mustang, Okla., edged Ridge Smith 2-0 at 184 pounds.
The Stars host the Oklahoma City Open presented by the Army ROTC at 9 a.m. Nov. 9 at Abe Lemons Arena.
