THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University takes on Mid-America Christian in a special Super Tuesday Sooner Athletic Conference showdown

• The two teams were originally scheduled to meet Jan. 3 before wintry weather intervened and postponed the contest until Tuesday
• Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and OCU students, faculty and staff get into all regular-season OCU home athletics events free with their ID

ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City thrashed Langston 82-42 on Saturday in Langston, Okla. The Stars (18-2, 11-1 SAC) made Bo Overton the latest OCU women's basketball coach to reach 100 wins, joining Bob Colon (258 from 1980-95), Kent Stanley (103 from 1995-2000), Janell Jones (175 from 2000-05) and Rob Edmisson (212 from 2005-12)
Mallory Lockhart, a 5-foot-7 freshman from Keller, Texas, produced season bests with 22 points and six 3-pointers. Lockhart had her second consecutive outing with six treys as she hit 52.2 percent (12-for-23) from 3-point range last week. Lockhart provides 11.3 points a contest with a 46.5 percent 3-point shooting percentage, which ranks sixth in NAIA Division I
Taylor LaCour, a 6-1 senior from Georgetown, Texas, notched her first double-double this season with 16 points and 10 rebounds in 16 minutes played. LaCour shot 8-for-12 from the field. LaCour supplies OCU with 10.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game
Abby Selzer, a 6-2 freshman from Thomas, Okla., chipped in 16 points and six rebounds. Selzer leads OCU with 16.4 points and 7.1 rebounds a contest. She ranks second nationally with 63.5 percent shooting from the floor
• The Stars have harassed teams into the lowest defensive field-goal percentage in NAIA Division I at 28.4 percent. Taylor Sylvester, a 6-5 junior, records 2.80 blocks a game to rank fifth nationally. To see how OCU ranks with the rest of the NAIA statistically, click here
• Oklahoma City moved to 12th in the last NAIA Division I ranking. Oklahoma City extended the NAIA's longest streak of top-25 appearances to 249 consecutive rankings dating back to 1997-98. The Stars reached the NAIA Tournament for the 21st consecutive year and for the 24th time overall last season. OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• The Stars picked up the second spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll. Oklahoma City took its 18th SAC regular-season championship and 12th SAC Tournament title last season. OCU has won or shared nine of the past 11 league titles, going 211-21 (.909 winning percentage) within SAC play since 2007-08
• OCU topped Mid-America Christian 85-73 on Feb. 3, 2018 at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars honored the 1988 national championship team during halftime. OCU owns victories in all 25 meetings between the two teams
• The Stars hold a half-game lead in the SAC standings after Mid-America Christian picked up its first win over a top 10-rated opponent, Wayland Baptist (Texas), 85-66 on Thursday
 
ABOUT THE EVANGELS
• Mid-America Christian knocked off Panhandle State 87-77 on Saturday at the Gaulke Activity Center in Oklahoma City. Mid-America Christian (14-4, 8-4 SAC) shot 52.8 percent from the field in the first half
• Alexis Shannon, a 5-11 junior, had 29 points, 10 rebounds and four steals. She posted her fifth double-double of the season. Shannon, the SAC player of the week for the third time this season, averages 17.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.89 steals per game
• Mid-America Christian ranks third in the NAIA in scoring (85.0 points per game)
• SAC coaches predicted Mid-America Christian to finish third in the SAC in the preseason
 
MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (100-19, fourth season with OCU)
• Led Stars to 28-6 season with the SAC regular-season and tournament crowns in 2017-18
• Overton has coached four all-Americans while at OCU, including Daniela Wallen, the 2017 NAIA Division I player of the year, and Daniela Galindo, the 2018 WBCA NAIA player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympics
• From 1998-2004, he served as assistant for Oklahoma. During that time, the Sooners made five NCAA Tournament trips with the 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth with three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament crowns
• He has an overall record coaching college women of 122-66, notching his 100th career win in a 78-53 victory at Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Feb. 23, 2018
 
Hannah Moeller (61-28, third season with Mid-America Christian)
• Guided the Evangels to the 2018 National Christian College Athletic Association championship with its most victories (24) and SAC wins (13) ever
• Moeller took over as Mid-America Christian coach in 2016-17 after spending the previous four years as Randall head coach
• Moeller served as the MACU assistant women's basketball coach during the 2010-11 season for former OCU assistant coach and current University of Tulsa assistant coach Roman Owen
