LANGSTON, Okla. – Oklahoma City University crushed Langston 25-6, 25-17, 25-18 on Tuesday at C. Felton Gayles Fieldhouse.
Lacy Beeler, a sophomore from Jenks, Okla., produced 15 kills and seven digs for the Stars. Oklahoma City moved to 6-1, 2-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball.
OCU's Lauren Hermes, a junior from The Colony, Texas, picked up 10 digs and an ace, and Taylor Horton, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., notched 19 assists, four digs and two kills.
Marijana Bjelobrk, a junior from Belgrade, Serbia, posted seven kills, six digs, four blocks and an ace, while Sophia Salak, a freshman from McKinney, Texas, handed out 10 assists for the Stars. Olivia Nutter, a freshman from Plano, Texas, hammered five kills with two blocks, and Caitlin Bosarge, a sophomore from Mustang, Okla., scooped up five digs.
Beeler smacked three kills in a row to provide OCU with a 22-4 first-set advantage. Nutter pounded a kill to put the Stars ahead 19-3.
In the third set, Bjelobrk combined with Hanna Nicholson on a block to give Oklahoma City an 8-1 lead.
The Stars return to Abe Lemons Arena to face Central Christian (Kan.) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
