Stars look for second road win of season

THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University puts its three-game winning streak on the line at Central Christian (Kan.)
• OCU takes to the road for the first time within the Sooner Athletic Conference this season

ABOUT THE STARS
• The Stars walloped Langston 87-47 on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena. Oklahoma City (7-1, 1-0 SAC) overcame an early five-point deficit and held an opponent to 50 points or less for the fourth time this season
Abby Selzer, a 6-foot-2 freshman from Thomas, Okla., delivered 22 points and six rebounds while hitting 8 of her 9 field-goal attempts and all six of her free-throw shots in 17 minutes. She hit her first seven shots from the floor. Selzer produces 15.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.38 blocked shots a game while ranking second in the NAIA in field-goal percentage (72.3 percent)
Taylor LaCour, a 6-1 senior from Georgetown, Texas, supplied OCU with 15 points while shooting 7-for-8 from the field. LaCour records 11.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest while hitting 55.2 percent of her shots from the floor
• The Stars top NAIA Division I in blocks (53) and lowest opponents' field-goal percentage (28.8 percent). Taylor Sylvester ranks second nationally in blocked shots a game (3.50) and third in blocks (28). To see how OCU stacks up to the rest of the NAIA statistically, click here
• Oklahoma City sits at 10th in the preseason NAIA Division I rankings. The Stars reached the NAIA Tournament for the 21st consecutive year and for the 24th time overall last season. OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• The Stars picked up the second spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll. OCU took its 18th SAC regular-season championship and 12th SAC Tournament title last season
• OCU drubbed Central Christian 94-60 on Feb. 13, 2018 in McPherson, Kan. LaCour had 17 points and 11 rebounds

ABOUT THE LADY TIGERS
• Southwestern Christian cruised past Central Christian 90-79 on Thursday in Bethany, Okla. Central Christian (1-6, 0-1 SAC) remain winless in 21 contests in SAC play since joining the league
• Piper Kalthoff, a 5-8 senior, provided Central Christian with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists. Kalthoff averages 19.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.43 steals a contest, ranking eighth nationally in scoring average
• Central Christian rates 11th in the NAIA with 14.43 steals a game
• SAC coaches placed the Lady Tigers at 11th in the preseason conference poll
 
MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (89-18, fourth season with OCU)
• Led Stars to 28-6 season with the SAC regular-season and tournament crowns in 2017-18
• Overton has coached four all-Americans while at OCU, including Daniela Wallen, the 2017 NAIA Division I player of the year, and Daniela Galindo, the 2018 WBCA NAIA player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympics
• From 1998-2004, he served as assistant for Oklahoma. During that time, the Sooners made five NCAA Tournament trips with the 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth with three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament crowns
 
Marc Golden (2-34, second season with Central Christian)
• Guided Fort Myers Evangelical Christian (Fla.) to a 42-11 record and back-to-back district titles in three years
• Spent four years as an assistant at Baptist Bible (Mo.), his alma mater
• Coached two National Christian College Athletic Association all-Americans at Baptist Bible
