OCU derails Randall 84-73

Stars build 27-11 advantage in bench points

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University knocked off Randall 84-73 on Tuesday night at Abe Lemons Arena.
Mark Howell, a senior from Grand Prairie, Texas, supplied the Stars with a career-high 18 points. Oklahoma City, ranked fifth in NAIA Division I men's basketball, went to 4-1 this season.
Howell topped six Stars who scored in double figures. Howell added four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Elijah Christman and Anthony Davis each had 15 points. Christman, a senior from Justin, Texas, provided OCU with seven rebounds and two blocked shots while sinking all three 3-point attempts. Davis, a junior from Lewisville, Texas, pitched in four rebounds and two blocks.
Trae Bryant and Chris Williams each scored 12 points for the Stars. Bryant, a junior from Wilmington, N.C., collected three rebounds and four assists, while Williams, a senior from Denver, brought down seven rebounds.
Eric McCollum, a senior from Newburgh, N.Y., notched his third double-double of the season with 10 points and 13 rebounds. OCU held a 27-11 advantage in bench scoring.
Oklahoma City built its largest lead at 69-54 after an 8-0 surge. Bryant ignited the run with a 3-point play midway through the second period. McCollum put OCU up by 15 points with a pair of free throws.

The Stars overcame a 10-4 early deficit. OCU unleashed an 11-2 run to grab the lead. Williams sparked the Stars with five points, nailing a trey at the 16:40 mark. Christman's transition bucket put OCU in the lead 13-12.
OCU finishes off its home-and-home season series with Randall at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 in Moore, Okla.
