THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University look to cool off Sooner Athletic Conference foe John Brown (Ark.), NAIA Division I's leader in 3-pointers
• The Stars enjoy a season-long run of home games at five. OCU will take to the road for three consecutive contests Feb. 8-13
• Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students, and OCU students, faculty and staff get into all regular-season OCU home athletics events free with their ID

ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City rolled to an 88-47 victory over Bacone on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars (17-3, 10-1 SAC) reached 85 points for the sixth time this season
Daniela Galindo, a 5-foot-10 senior from Shattuck, Okla., collected her first double-double of the season and second of her OCU career with 25 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and five steals. She hit 9 of her 12 shots from the floor and shot 5-for-8 from 3-point range. Galindo's other double-double came at John Brown on Dec. 1, 2016 as she had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Galindo boosts the Stars with 20.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.58 thefts per contest
NaShyla Hammons, a 5-11 sophomore from Oklahoma City, scored a career-best 18 points while totaling nine rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots. She had a 5-for-7 night from the field and 3-for-4 performance on 3-pointers. Hammons contributes 7.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.58 steals a game
• Nationally, the Stars rank third in both free-throw percentage (76.5 percent) and defensive rebounds a game (30.8). Galindo's 393 points ranks her third in the NAIA. To see how the Stars rate among NAIA Division I statistically, click here
• OCU stands fifth in the latest NAIA Division I ratings. Oklahoma City extended the NAIA's longest streak of top-25 appearances to 242 consecutive rankings dating back to 1997-98. OCU has made 23 trips to the NAIA Division I Tournament and captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• The Stars have been installed as the favorite to win the Sooner Athletic Conference in the preseason coaches poll. OCU took its 17th SAC regular-season championships and 11th SAC Tournament title in 2016-17. The Stars have won or shared seven of the past eight SAC regular-season titles and with a 155-12 mark (.928 winning percentage) in conference play during that time
• OCU's overall mark against John Brown is 48-5. Oklahoma City staved off John Brown 65-60 on Dec. 9 in Siloam Springs, Ark. Jordan Martin had a free throw with 4:21 remaining to give John Brown the lead 57-56, but Michaela Kay answered with a 3-pointer. Galindo provided OCU with 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals
 
ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
• John Brown crushed Central Christian (Kan.) 94-54 on Thursday in Siloam Springs, Ark. John Brown (13-7, 7-4 SAC) nailed 17 of 30 3-point shots for its second highest 3-point total of the season
• Baily Cameron, a 5-10 junior, notched her fourth double-double this season with 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Cameron averages 16.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.32 blocks a game
• Martin, a 5-9 sophomore, set a John Brown single-game record by making all six of her 3-point attempts, topping Lauren Rogers' 6-for-7 performance vs. USAO on Dec. 1, 2014
• The Golden Eagles lead the NAIA in 3-pointers per game (11.53), 3-pointers (219), assists (397), assists per game (20.9) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.29-to-1)
• John Brown received votes in the last poll, standing as the first team outside the top 25
• League coaches put John Brown as second in the preseason SAC poll
 
MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (71-14, third season with OCU)
• Led Stars to 34-2 season, accruing 2017 NAIA Division I and Sooner Athletic Conference coach of the year awards
• Overton has coached three all-Americans while at OCU, including Wallen, the 2017 NAIA Division I player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympics
• From 1998-2004, he served as assistant for Oklahoma. During that time, the Sooners made five NCAA Tournament trips with the 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth, three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament crowns
 

Jeff Soderquist (315-325, 21st season with John Brown)
• Soderquist has guided the Golden Eagles to four trips to the NAIA Division I Tournament in 2004, 2006, 2011 and 2014. He is the winningest coach in program history
• In 2013-14, Soderquist led John Brown to 28 victories and 15 SAC wins, both program records
• In 2011 Soderquist was named the SAC coach of character

• Andrew Himes adds the commentary. Himes enters his seventh season as the voice of the Stars and has been broadcasting OCU basketball for 10 years starting on color commentary as an OCU student
