MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University rolled to a 25-12, 25-5, 25-16 victory over Bacone on Saturday afternoon at the Palmer Center.
Stefani Nell, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., topped OCU with 11 kills to go with seven digs. The Stars improved to 6-5, 3-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball.
Sanja Vojnovic, a senior from Bajeljena, Bosnia, accumulated 34 assists, three digs and three aces, while Dani Chase, a senior from Yukon, Okla., racked up 15 digs and four aces for Oklahoma City.
Holly Randall, a senior from Edmond, Okla., posted nine kills, and Marijana Bjelobrk, a sophomore from Belgrade, Serbia, added eight kills in 10 attacks and two digs for the Stars.
OCU's Jazmyn Boyd-Clark, a junior from Troutdale, Ore., knocked down seven kills in eight attacks, and Lacy Beeler, a freshman from Jenks, Okla., added six kills in eight attempts.
OCU matched its season high with 11 aces as Michelle Krenowicz had a career-high two aces. The Stars turned in a season-best .500 team hitting percentage.
In the second set, Oklahoma City reeled off an 11-0 splurge to build a 16-2 advantage. Beeler hammered three kills, and Chase landed two aces to key the Stars' run.
The Stars take on new SAC member Central Christian (Kan.) at 3 p.m. Sept. 23 at Abe Lemons Arena.
