Two Stars named SAC players of the week

Chase takes defensive player of week, Vojnovic snags setter of week

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Dani Chase and Sanja Vojnovic earned Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week awards.
The duo helped guide first-year head coach Jason Muñoz to his first career victory as OCU head coach with a 25-21, 25-21, 25-14 win over Coastal Georgia on Saturday in Hastings, Neb.
Chase, a senior from Yukon, Okla., posted 4.18 digs per set over the Stars' first three matches of the season. She had a high of 18 digs against top-ranked Hastings (Neb.) and 14 digs vs. eighth-ranked Columbia (Mo.). Chase scooped up 14 digs in OCU's win over Coastal Georgia. She reeled in her fourth career SAC defender of the week nod.
Vojnovic, a senior setter from Bajeljena, Bosnia, dished 80 assists over the weekend, including a season-best 43 against eighth-ranked Columbia. She finished the weekend with 20 total digs, 10 kills and eight aces, averaging 9.55 assists, 1.82 digs and 0.73 aces a set. Vojnovic became SAC setter of the week for the seventh time.
The Stars take on fourth-ranked Midland (Neb.) at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Bellevue Labor Day Classic in Bellevue, Neb.
