Fifth-ranked Stars, Campbellsville meet in rematch of 2015 national championship game

THE MATCHUP:
Oklahoma City University looks to advance to the NAIA Division I women's basketball tournament championship game for the 12th time in a Fab Four matchup with Campbellsville (Ky.).

ABOUT THE STARS: Oklahoma City clinched its 14th NAIA Tournament semifinals appearance an 80-64 victory over Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) on Saturday at Rimrock Auto Arena. The Stars (31-2) improved to 9-0 vs. ranked teams this season with its 18th consecutive win.
Daniela Galindo, a 5-foot-10 junior from Shattuck, Okla., delivered 22 points and two assists while dropping in 4 of 6 3-point shots. Galindo, the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament hustle award winner, accrues 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.94 steals a game on the season and 20.7 points and 1.33 thefts per game during the tournament. Galindo tops the NAIA with her 47.5 percent 3-point shooting and 90.8 percent free-throw percentage.
Daniela Wallen, a 5-11 senior from Caracas, Venezuela, collected 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals. Wallen, the SAC Tournament most valuable player, posts 24.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.82 steals a game in 2016-17 and 21.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.33 steals per contest during the tournament. She leads the NAIA in scoring, points (828) and steals (130) this season. Wallen averaged 21.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.00 steals a game in exhibitions against NCAA Tournament teams Oklahoma and Texas A&M earlier this season.
Mariana Duran, a 5-9 senior from Yaracuy, Venezuela, had 16 points, six rebounds and six steals. Duran averages 5.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists a game this season and 9.0 points and 5.0 assists in the tournament.
The Stars have the NAIA Division I's finest team field-goal percentage (51.4) and free-throw percentage (77.7) while leading the NAIA with 636 assists. To see where OCU ranks against the NAIA statistically, click here.
Oklahoma City took the fifth spot in the last top 25. OCU has made 211 consecutive appearances in the NAIA ratings since 1999-2000. The Stars reeled in their 20th consecutive NAIA Tournament bid and 23rd overall national-tournament berth. OCU has gone 69-14 in national-tournament play and surpassed Union (Tenn.) for the most NAIA Division I women's tournament victories with its 81-79 win Friday over Montana Western. Oklahoma City owns national championships from 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014 and 2015.
OCU captured its last national title with an 80-63 win over Campbellsville (Ky.) on March 24, 2015 in Independence, Mo. The Stars built a 56-24 rebounding advantage. OCU has a 9-1 all-time record vs. Campbellsville.

ABOUT THE LADY TIGERS: Campbellsville handed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) its first loss of the season 73-70 on Saturday in the tournament quarterfinals. Emily Fox's free throws gave 10th-ranked Campbellsville (28-6) a three-point lead with seven seconds left.
Fox, a 5-8 senior, boosted Campbellsville with 20 points and four 3-pointers. Fox supplies Campbellsville with 14.9 points and 1.33 steals a game. Lexxus Graham, a 5-5 junior, had 16 points and hit all four of her 3-point tries. Graham averages 7.1 points per game.
Campbellsville ranks second nationally with a plus-6.85 turnover margin.

ABOUT THE COACHES: Bo Overton returns to OCU for his second season as its head coach. Overton has coaching experience on the professional level in China, Russia and the WNBA, as well as college head-coaching experience with Missouri-Kansas City. Overton has been an assistant on the international level for the Bahamas and China, including the 2012 Olympics with the Chinese team.
Ginger Colvin has guided Campbellsville, her alma mater, to a 270-72 record in her 10th season at the helm. Colvin brought Campbellsville to its first national-title game as well as the program's first Fab Four appearance in 2015. Colvin was Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the year in 1990.
