THE MATCHUP:
Oklahoma City University squares off with John Brown (Ark.) in a contest between teams ranked in the top 20.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, while OCU students, faculty and staff are allowed into all regular-season OCU athletics events for free with their ID.
 
ABOUT THE STARS: The Stars hammered Texas Wesleyan 81-62 on Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena. Oklahoma City (20-2, 11-1 Sooner Athletic Conference) took a one-game lead in the conference standings over Wayland Baptist (Texas) while reaching 20 wins for the 19th consecutive season.
Daniela Wallen, a 5-foot-11 senior from Caracas, Venezuela, produced 27 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 11-for-14 from the field. She surpassed 1,000 career points Jan. 26 vs. USAO. Wallen amasses 24.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.86 steals a game. She leads the NAIA in scoring and ranks second nationally in steals (85), steals per game and points (529).
NaShyla Hammons, a 5-11 freshman from Oklahoma City, contributed 14 points and seven rebounds. Hammons picks up 5.7 points and 4.4 rebounds a game. Allison Frey, a 5-9 junior from Mustang, Okla., had nine points and three 3-pointers in 11 minutes. Frey averages 6.0 points and 4.5 rebounds a game.

Oklahoma City remained at seventh in the newest rankings. OCU has made 208 consecutive appearances in the NAIA ratings since 1999-2000. OCU owns national championships from 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014 and 2015. SAC coaches installed the Stars as the league's preseason favorite. OCU has won or shared the SAC regular-season crown 16 times.
OCU holds a 46-5 all-time record vs. John Brown. The Stars overcame a 10-point deficit in a 75-62 victory Dec. 1 in Siloam Springs, Ark. Wallen led OCU with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES: John Brown toppled Wayland Baptist 85-69 on Saturday in Siloam Springs, Ark., in the NAIA Network game of the week. John Brown (17-6, 9-3 SAC) snapped Wayland Baptist's 14-game winning streak and extended its own win string to seven.
Baily Cameron, a 5-10 sophomore, lifted John Brown with 20 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Cameron, the SAC player of the week, accumulates 15.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.57 thefts a game. Jana Schammel, a 5-7 junior, had 18 points and shot 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. Schammel averages 8.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest.
John Brown leads the NAIA with a 41.9 percent 3-point percentage, 11.0 3-pointers made per game and 253 treys. SAC coaches put John Brown at third in the preseason SAC poll.

ABOUT THE COACHES: Bo Overton returns to OCU for his second season as its head coach. Overton has coaching experience on the professional level in China, Russia and the WNBA, as well as college head-coaching experience with Missouri-Kansas City. Overton has been an assistant on the international level for the Bahamas and China, including the 2012 Olympics with the Chinese team.
Jeff Soderquist enters his 20th season at the helm of the women's basketball program at John Brown. The winningest coach in program history, Soderquist currently holds an overall record of 296-315 and has guided the Golden Eagles to four trips to the NAIA Tournament in 2004, 2006, 2011 and 2014.
