OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University thumped Southeastern Oklahoma State 25-21, 25-16, 25-17 on Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena.
The Stars reeled in their eighth consecutive victory. Oklahoma City moved to 13-5 in volleyball.
OCU's Marijana Bjelobrk, a sophomore from Belgrade, Serbia, posted 10 kills and four blocks, while Sanja Vojnovic, a senior from Bajeljena, Bosnia, generated 30 assists, seven digs and two aces.
Dani Chase, a senior from Yukon, Okla., collected 21 digs to reach 20 digs for the fifth time in six matches, and Stefani Nell, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., amassed eight kills, 13 digs and two aces for the Stars.
Holly Randall, a senior from Edmond, Okla., contributed eight kills and four blocks, and Jazmyn Boyd-Clark, a junior from Troutdale, Ore., added a team-high six blocks for OCU.
OCU overcame 4-0 and 7-2 first-set deficits, taking a 14-10 lead with a 7-1 run. The Stars wrapped up the first set as Bjelobrk and Nell smacked kills, and Vojnovic served up an ace.
In the third set, OCU accumulated seven consecutive points to grab a 7-2 advantage on the way to the win.
The Stars meet Panhandle State at 7 p.m. Friday in Goodwell, Okla., in OCU's first contest against Panhandle State as a Sooner Athletic Conference member.
