Stars look to stretch home winning streak to 16

THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University looks to remain atop the Sooner Athletic Conference in a matchup with Bacone.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, while OCU students, faculty and staff are allowed into all regular-season OCU athletics events for free with their ID.
 
ABOUT THE STARS: OCU ran past USAO 85-70 on Thursday in Oklahoma City. The Stars (17-2, 8-1 SAC) raced out to a 18-4 lead and never trailed in the game.
Daniela Wallen, a 5-11 senior from Caracas, Venezuela, notched 20 points, 10 rebounds and four steals en route to her conference-leading 11th double-double of the season. Wallen produces 24.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.05 steals a game. She leads the NAIA in scoring, steals per game and steals (81).

Daniela Galindo, a 5-foot-10 junior from Shattuck, Okla., provided 18 points and tied a season high with eight rebounds. Galindo accumulates 16.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.47 steals per game plus an NAIA-high 93.1 percent free-throw percentage. NaShyla Hammons, a 5-11 freshman from Oklahoma City, scored a career-high 16 points while going 4-for-7 from 3-point-range.
The Stars lead the NAIA with a 50.2 percent field-goal percentage and 81.0 percent shooting from the free-throw line. To see where OCU ranks against the NAIA statistically, click here.
Oklahoma City went to eighth in the latest rankings. OCU improved its streak of top-25 appearances to 207 consecutive polls since 1999-2000. OCU owns national championships from 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014 and 2015. SAC coaches installed the Stars as the league's preseason favorite. OCU has won or shared the SAC regular-season crown 16 times.
The Stars are 2-0 all-time against Bacone, with both contests coming last season. The Stars dropped Bacone 72-55 on Feb. 18, 2016 at Abe Lemons Arena. Allison Frey hit five 3-pointers to lead OCU with 20 points.

ABOUT THE LADY WARRIORS: Bacone fell to No. 23 John Brown (Ark.) 79-52 on Thursday in Siloam Springs, Ark. The Lady Warriors (6-11, 4-5 SAC) were outscored 40-17 in the second half.
Cierra Miles, a 5-6 junior, scored 16 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists and recorded four steals. Miles is the leading scorer for Bacone, averaging 15.8 points to go along with 5.2 rebounds and 3.06 steals per contest. Bailey Scarberry, a 5-8 junior, provided the Lady Warriors with 14 points, two rebounds and two steals. Scarberry provides 11.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.29 steals a game.
Bacone ranks sixth in the NAIA with a plus-6.59 turnover margin. The Warriors were expected to finish 10th in the SAC before the season.

ABOUT THE COACHES: Bo Overton returns to OCU for his second season as its head coach. Overton has coaching experience on the professional level in China, Russia and the WNBA, as well as college head-coaching experience with Missouri-Kansas City. Overton has been an assistant on the international level for the Bahamas and China, including the 2012 Olympics with the Chinese team.
Josh Nichols is in his second season as the Lady Warriors head coach after serving as the assistant coach. Prior to serving four years as a men's basketball assistant at Bacone, Nichols spent four years as an assistant at Iowa Wesleyan and two and a half seasons at Johnson County (Kan.). In 2002 as a team captain, Nichols helped lead Oklahoma Wesleyan to the NCCAA Tournament. After his playing days, he served as the head varsity assistant from 2002-04 at Oklahoma Wesleyan.

We're going to have to do similar things that we did [against USAO].
