OCU wins twice in Baker Invtational

18th-ranked Stars finish weekend 3-1

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Oklahoma City University took two matches in the Baker Invitational on Saturday at the Collins Center.
The Stars knocked off Saint Ambrose (Iowa) 25-12, 25-19, 25-17, then pounded Baker (Kan.) 25-17, 25-15, 25-11. OCU, ranked 18th in NAIA volleyball, went to 11-3 on the year.
Shekinah Clarke, a sophomore from Waianae, Hawaii, produced 10 kills and six digs, and Sanja Vojnovic, a junior from Bajeljena, Bosnia, dished out 34 assists for OCU.
Stefani Nell, a junior from Tulsa, Okla., chipped in nine kills and two blocks, while Dani Chase, a junior from Yukon, Okla., provided the Stars with eight digs and three aces.
Against Baker, Manon Soraru, a junior from Mulhouse, France, posted 12 kills and five aces. Vojnovic gave out 40 assists.
Fia Faa'agi, a sophomore from Murrieta, Calif., knocked down 11 kills, and Nell added nine kills and 19 digs for OCU.
The Stars step back into Sooner Athletic Conference play 7 p.m. Tuesday against Bacone in Muskogee, Okla.
