OCU pair honored by SAC

Chase takes SAC defender of week, while Mitcham becomes setter of week

OKLAHOMA CITY – Dani Chase and Hannah Mitcham of Oklahoma City University reeled in weekly awards from the Sooner Athletic Conference for the week of Sept. 7-13.
Chase, a sophomore libero from Yukon, Okla., became the SAC volleyball defender of the week, while Mitcham, a senior from Fort Worth, Texas, collected league setter of the week. Those two led the Stars to a 3-1 performance in the Baker Invitational this weekend in Baldwin City, Kan.
On the week, Chase averaged 5.47 digs in 17 sets while posting a .930 reception percentage and .917 service return percentage. Chase picked up her first career SAC defender of the week honor.
Mitcham posted 10.29 assists and 1.59 digs per set during the week. Mitcham brought her career totals to five conference setter of the week awards, 18 40-assist performances and three 50-assist matches. Mitcham's 51 assists against 12th-ranked Northwestern (Iowa) accounted for her first 50-assist performance since having one against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Sept. 30, 2013.
