SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City kept its season-long winning streak alive with a 3-1 win at John Brown on Friday.
 
The Stars won 25-12, 29-31, 25-16, 25-21.
 
It was OCU's first win at John Brown since 2023 and extended the record-breaking start to seven matches.
 
"I thought we did a great job dealing with some adversity tonight," said OCU Head Coach Kristen Coventon. "We were a little up and down from set to set but I thought we made some good adjustments. There are always some nerves in that first conference game and I was proud of how we responded."
 
Kacie Townsend has 21 kills, followed by Grace Smallwood with 12 and Amber Jones and Bailey Lowder with 10 each. Natalie Adams had 26  assists and Rylie Steward added 21, both playing two sets each. Townsend led the Stars with four aces. The Stars hit at a robust .318 percentage.
 
Defensively, Jones had four blocks. Smallwood led with 18 digs, followed by Kate Cleofe with 15 and Joeci Hunt with 12.
 
The Stars scored the first four points of the first set and were never threatened. Adams closed the set with an ace.
 
After a see-saw second set, OCU scored the first six points of the second set and cruised to the win. Jones and Steward ended the set with a block.
 
OCU trailed 10-6 in the final set before rolling off six consecutive points, including kills by Townsend and Smallwood and four JBU attack errors. Townsend ended the match with a kill.
 
The Stars visit College of the Ozarks at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats are 4-2 after a 3-1 win on Friday against Southwestern Christian.
