OCU's Chase nets SAC setter of week

Junior from Yukon, Okla., amasses 141 assists over weekend

OKLAHOMA CITY – Taylor Chase of Oklahoma City University took Sooner Athletic Conference setter of the week for Aug. 25-31.
Chase, a junior from Yukon, Okla., posted 10.85 assists, 0.38 blocks and 0.54 aces per set in aiding the Stars to a 4-0 performance in the Kansas Wesleyan Invitational this weekend.
In victories of Haskell (Kan.), Tabor (Kan.), Briar Cliff (Iowa) and Friends (Kan.), Chase piled up 141 assists, five kills, seven aces, five blocks and 22.5 points. OCU got off to a 4-0 start in volleyball for the first time since 2007.
Oklahoma City plays in the Evangel Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Springfield, Mo. On Friday, the Stars face Missouri Valley at 3 p.m., then Missouri Baptist at 5 p.m.
