Irwin, Mitcham of Stars collect SAC player of week honors

OCU beat John Brown, Southwestern Assemblies of God last week

Hannah Mitcham won her first Sooner Athletic Conference award of 2014.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Meghan Irwin and Hannah Mitcham raked in Sooner Athletic Conference player of the week honors for the week of Oct. 13-19.
Irwin, a senior middle blocker-outside hitter from Arlington, Texas, became OCU's first SAC player of the week honoree since Xiaoting Ma on Oct. 25, 2010. Mitcham, a junior setter from Fort Worth, Texas, picked up her third career league setter of the week nod. 
Irwin helped OCU to conference victories over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) and John Brown (Ark.). She averaged 5.00 kills, 2.43 digs and 0.57 blocks over a seven-set span while maintaining an attack percentage of .308. Irwin now ranks second on the school's all-time career kill chart with 1,221. Irwin had previously been SAC hitter of the week for Sept. 3-9, 2012.
Mitcham averaged 7.57 assists and 2.43 digs in seven sets with wins over SAGU and John Brown. She had 36 assists and eight digs against SAGU and followed with 17 assists and nine digs against JBU.
