Stars suffer two setbacks in College of Ozarks Tournament

Mitcham amasses 53 assists, 18 digs for OCU

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – Oklahoma City University dropped two matches in the College of the Ozarks volleyball tournament on Friday at the Keeter Gymnasium.
The Stars (2-4) fell to Ottawa (Kan.) 25-22, 26-24, 25-14 in an afternoon contest, then lost to College of the Ozarks (Mo.) 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.
Against Ottawa, Meghan Irwin topped the Stars by pounding down nine kills. Tori Leisure chipped in seven kills, while Danielle Robison posted 14 digs and five aces for OCU.
Hannah Mitcham collected 26 assists and nine digs for the Stars. Heather Watson picked up eight digs, and Maggie Vickers recorded seven digs. Torrie Flynn and Aspen Healy notched two blocks each for OCU.  
Against event host College of the Ozarks, Irwin and Leisure paced OCU with nine kills each. Mitcham accumulated 27 assists and nine digs, and Robison had seven digs and four aces. Flynn accounted for three blocks.
OCU meets McPherson (Kan.) at 9 a.m., then Evangel (Mo.) at 1 p.m. Saturday in Point Lookout, Mo.
