Oklahoma Baptist knocks off OCU

Stars fall to 7-11, 0-2 in SAC vs. 22nd-ranked OBU

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University fell 25-18, 25-15, 25-9 to nationally-ranked Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday at the Noble Complex.
The Stars went to 7-11, 0-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Oklahoma Baptist, ranked 22nd in NAIA volleyball, moved to 13-9, 2-0 in the SAC.
Raissa Santos, a senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, compiled her 13th double-double of the year with 10 kills and 13 digs. Danielle Robison, a sophomore from Dallas, recorded 19 assists, three kills and five digs for OCU.
Victoria Cross, a senior from Oklahoma City, scooped up 13 digs, while Anna Gentry, a sophomore from Stillwater, Okla., picked up 13 digs for the Stars. Meghan Irwin, a freshman from Arlington, Texas, posted eight digs and three blocks.
Santos' kill helped OCU cut its first-set deficit to 13-9. Oklahoma Baptist answered with four points in a row sparked by Tasha White's kill.
Santos had kills as the Stars sliced their deficit to 10-7 and 11-8 in the second set.
The Stars meet St. Gregory's at 7 p.m. Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena.
