ABOUT THE COACHES: Dionne Phelps enters his first season as a head coach with OCU. Phelps took over the Stars after serving as assistant coach for Oklahoma. Phelps has been a part of four conference title teams as well as three NCAA Tournament teams during his 22-year coaching career. Phelps played for Texas Lutheran, eventually joining the Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame.
Willie Holley is in his 38th season as head coach at Mid-America Christian. Holley has a career record of 741-473. He has led MACU to four NCCAA Division II national championships.

QUOTABLE: “Defensively we really didn't guard the ball like I hoped we would have. We got called on a couple fouls of our guys trying to help on screen situations, but that is going to happen and you have to learn to adjust. In the second half we felt like we had to continue to be aggressive and we weren't going to stop trying to be physical, that's who we are. Some nights it's going to be there for you and the referees aren't going to call it all the time, but tonight they were. But we can't step back from being aggressive because they are a physical team, so we have no choice. In the second half we stayed with what we were doing, and unfortunately we just didn't guard the ball well.” – Phelps
