Join the fight against breast cancer by coming to OCU's match Tuesday in Dig Pink night.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University invites fans to join the battle against breast cancer in Dig Pink night at the Stars' final home volleyball match of the year against Mid-America Christian at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Proceeds from the match plus donations provided will benefit the Side-Out Foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The teams will wear special pink shirts. The Stars will also honor their four seniors.
Dig Pink takes place in arenas all over the country during October, Breast Cancer Awareness month. The goal for this initiative is to raise funds to go towards research and “living with cancer” organizations. Volleyball teams from all over the nation participate in this Breast Cancer Awareness rally.
OCU's seniors are Alex Benbrook, Victoria Cross, Taylor Rowton and Raissa Santos. These seniors have contributed to OCU's 85-63 record over the past four years as well as the Stars' run to the program's first Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament championship, NAIA Championships Opening-Round win and the NAIA Championships last year.
Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students. OCU faculty, staff and students get in free to all OCU home regular-season athletic events with their ID.
“We want everyone will Dig Pink and support this worthy cause,” OCU coach Nikki Dieball said. “We also want to show our appreciation for our seniors, who have left quite a legacy for our program.”
