Stars nipped by Grand View

OCU knocked off by Olivet Nazarene

Meghan Irwin recorded 4.60 kills a set Saturday.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Grand View (Iowa) edged Oklahoma City University 22-25, 24-26, 25-14, 25-21, 15-9 on Saturday in the Olivet Nazarene Classic.
Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) also defeated OCU 25-20, 25-20, 25-21 earlier Saturday. Meghan Irwin, a freshman from Arlington, Texas, led the Stars with 23 kills on the day.
Against Grand View, Irwin knocked down 14 kills while picking up two solo blocks and two aces. Raissa Santos added 11 kills and 15 digs, and Victoria Cross accumulated 28 digs for OCU.
Alex Benbrook compiled 11 kills and three blocks, and Torrie Flynn notched 11 kills and six blocks for the Stars. Danielle Robison amassed 46 assists, while Taylor Rowton had seven kills and three blocks.
Against Olivet Nazarene, Irwin hammered down nine kills, and Benbrook added nine kills and two blocks. Santos contributed nine kills and 12 digs, and Cross scooped up 18 digs. Robison dished out 32 assists, while Flynn had six kills.
The Stars face St. Gregory's at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Shawnee, Okla.
