Stars fall to Southern Nazarene

Robison records her sixth double-double in a row

Danielle Robison amassed 26 assists and 14 digs Tuesday.
Box Score BETHANY, Okla. – Southern Nazarene dealt Oklahoma City University a 25-22, 25-17, 25-19 setback Tuesday at the Sawyer Center.
Danielle Robison notched 26 assists and 14 digs for OCU. The Stars went to 10-16, 3-5 in Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball.
Robison, a sophomore from Dallas, racked up her sixth consecutive double-double and 14th of the year. Victoria Cross, a senior from Oklahoma City, scooped up 22 digs, and Raissa Santos, a senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, accumulated 11 kills and seven digs for OCU.
Meghan Irwin had eight kills, 10 digs and two blocks, and Alex Benbrook added seven kills and four blocks for the Stars.
The Stars put together a 5-2 lead as Benbrook teamed with Robison and Taylor Rowton on blocks in the first set, which featured nine ties. Santos hammered down four kills as OCU rallied from a 21-17 deficit to tie the set 22-22. Kira Roberts and Ellen Martin knocked down kills to seal the set for Southern Nazarene.
In the third set, OCU cut its deficit to 21-18 using a four-point run. Irwin started the swing with a kill, then teamed with Aspen Healy on a block.
OCU takes on Saint Xavier (Ill.) at 2 p.m. Friday at Bourbonnais, Ill., in the Olivet Nazarene Invitational.
