OKLAHOMA CITY – Three Oklahoma City University volleyball players were selected as Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced on Tuesday.
 
OCU placed Layla Olvera, Ryan Leland and Marina Kalajdzic on the team, which requires a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and a significant contribution on the court.
 
Kaljdzic, an accounting major from Albuquerque, N.M., started 27 matches and had 78 blocks and 184 kills.
 
Leland, a nursing major from Norman, played in 28 matches and had 33 aces and 234 digs.
 
Olvera, a sophomore psychology major from Newcastle, played in 29 matches and had 33 service aces.
