THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University tries for its 12th win in a row when Rogers State visits Abe Lemons Arena.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students. Admission is free for all OCU athletic events to OCU faculty, staff and students with their ID.
ABOUT THE STARS: OCU rallied for a 69-63 victory at John Brown (Ark.) on Thursday at Murray Sells Gymnasium. The Stars (17-3, 12-1 Sooner Athletic Conference) trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half and were down 30-25 at halftime. OCU took the lead for good at 41-40 on a 3-pointer from Chontaye Walter with 12:13 remaining in the game.
OCU forced 28 turnovers, outscoring John Brown 25-9 on points off turnovers. OCU made more free throws (21) than John Brown attempted (15).
Donica Cosby, a 5-foot-8 junior from Coldwater, Miss., had 21 points, three assists and three steals to lead the Stars. Cosby averages 14.2 points, 3.9 assists and 1.79 per game.
Holly Hardin, a 6-0 senior from Chickasha, Okla., notched a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Hardin averages 11.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.25 blocks. Starr Fairbanks, a 6-2 junior from Cincinnati, added 12 points. Fairbanks averages 13.0 points and 4.3 rebounds.
OCU is ranked seventh in NAIA Division I. OCU was picked to finish second in the conference in the preseason. The Stars entered this season tied for the most wins of any women's basketball program in the nation over the past nine years.
OCU is a perfect 6-0 all-time against Rogers State. The Stars overwhelmed Rogers State 85-63 on Jan. 7 in Claremore, Okla. Cosby led OCU with 29 points and five steals.
ABOUT THE HILLCATS: Mid-America Christian edged Rogers State 54-49 on Thursday in Claremore, Okla. Rogers State (16-6, 8-6 SAC) shot just 30 percent for the game and failed to make a 3-point basket. Rogers State went eight minutes without a field goal in the second half.
Autumn Thompson led Rogers with nine points and two assists. Thompson, a 5-7 senior, averages 6.2 points and 2.4 assists. Jenny Hardin, a 6-2 senior, is Rogers State's leading scorer at 15.0 points per contest.
Rogers State is ranked 25th in NAIA Division I women's basketball. The Hillcats are expected to finish sixth in the SAC this season.
ABOUT THE COACHES: Rob Edmisson has posted a stellar 135-25 record in his fifth season at OCU and a 437-144 record overall in his 20th season as a head coach. Edmisson has led the Stars to SAC regular-season championships twice and the SAC Tournament title three times. Edmisson coached the only player drafted into the WNBA from OCU, Mariam Sy. He won 192 games at Hutchinson (Kan.) and 110 as a high-school coach in Kansas.
Amy Williams is in her third season as the head coach at Rogers State. Williams has guided RSU to a 47-38 record. Edmisson and Williams were on the same coaching staff at Oklahoma State.
