THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University aims to continue its unbeaten start against Baptist Bible (Mo.).
Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 students and free to OCU students, faculty and staff with their ID.
ABOUT THE STARS: OCU (3-0) picked up a 95-71 victory over Avila (Mo.) on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars ended the game on an 18-3 run.
Nate Flowers, a 6-foot-5 senior from Waldorf, Md., topped OCU with 24 points and eight rebounds to go with two assists. Flowers shot 11-of-15 from the floor. Flowers averages 13.7 points and a team-high 11.0 rebounds a game.
Johnny Stephene, a 6-1 junior from Boynton Beach, Fla., contributed 21 points, five rebounds and a team-high eight assists. Stephene hit all seven of shots from the field and four of his free-throw attempts. Stephene has recorded 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists a game. Dee Proby, a 6-10 senior from Round Rock, Texas, chipped in 15 points, six rebounds and two assists. Proby has scored a team-high 16.7 points while adding 5.3 rebounds a game.
The Stars received votes in the preseason national rankings. OCU has been picked to finish fifth in the SAC according to league coaches. Six-time national champion OCU has captured the SAC regular-season crown 13 times.
These two schools meet for the first time ever.
ABOUT THE PATRIOTS: Baptist Bible lost 84-36 to Atlanta Christian on Nov. 4 in Atlanta.
Bobby Hughes, a 6-9 senior, averaged 17.5 points and 9.3 rebounds a game last season. Hughes became a first-team NCCAA all-American in 2009-10. A.J. Watson, a 6-3 sophomore, hit 57.1 percent of his shots from the floor last season.
ABOUT THE COACHES: Kevin Morrissey has posted a 35-26 record through two seasons at OCU. Morrissey spent the previous four seasons as St. Gregory's coach. He also has been an assistant at Missouri State and Texas-Pan American. Morrissey played his college ball at Oklahoma Baptist and Oral Roberts and high school at Bishop McGuinness in Oklahoma City.
Dan Elliot leads Baptist Bible's men's basketball program. Baptist Bible went 18-11 last season.
