OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University swept Oklahoma Christian 7-3, 10-1 on Friday at Oklahoma Christian.
The Stars, ranked seventh in the NAIA, improved to 4-0, 2-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Lily LaVelle, a freshman from Bridge Creek, Okla., went 3-for-4, scoring two runs for the Stars. Mindy Crabaugh, a senior from Edmond, Okla., went 1-for-3 while knocking in two runs. Amanda Howard, a junior from Strathmore, Alberta, Canada, also recorded two RBIs, going 2-for-5.
Melissa Moore, Jen Davis and Erin Slettvet all drove in a run.
Jenni Gaby, a sophomore from Quitman, Texas, posted the win for the Stars, throwing six innings with five strikeouts.
In the second game, Laurin Hess, a junior from Edmond, Okla., went 4-for-4, knocking in three RBIs and scoring two runs. Moore went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs as well. Davis and Slettvet both recorded an RBI.
Ashley Wilburn, a junior from Gilmer, Texas, threw five innings for the Stars to get the win. Wilburn gave up one hit and had eight strikeouts.
The Stars face USAO at 2 p.m. in a doubleheader on Tuesday in Chickasha, Okla.
