COLUMBUS, Ga. – Oklahoma City finished the 2025 softball season as NAIA runner-up after falling 6-3 to Southern Oregon in the championship game on Thursday.

The teams played through the rain and rough field conditions.

Emersen Heron,
Analise Rayburn and
Iliana Ashford earned All-World Series recognition after the game.
Â
OCU started the game well with
Tara Hoehner and Rayburn producing back-to-back home runs in the top of the first. For the second consecutive game, however, the Stars allowed four unearned runs in the bottom of the first and never regained the lead.

The Stars cut the lead to 4-3 in the third when
Tiffany Paul and Ashford produced back-to-back doubles to start the inning but Ashford was left stranded at third.

OCU had six hits in the game with Paul, Ashford, Hoehner, Rayburn, Heron and
Grace Pollon getting one each.

Heron (27-7) allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out two.
Â
World Series MVP Alya Davies struck out seven in getting her 38
th win of the season.

The Stars ended the season with a 53-11 record playing with seniors
Rally Radacy, Paul,
Carlee Mollet, Heron,
Kaylee Witte and Pollon.
