THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University faces Southern Nazarene in a matchup of top-15 ranked teams in the NAIA. The two teams have the most heated rivalry in NAIA women's basketball.
OCU and Southern Nazarene have combined for 24 Sooner Athletic Conference championships, 14 of 15 SAC Tournament titles and 12 NAIA Division I championships. The two played for the national championship each year from 2002-04, with the Stars capturing the NAIA title in 2002.

ABOUT THE STARS: OCU defeated USAO 61-47 on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena, improving to 18-2, 10-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Holly Hardin led the Stars with 13 points and 20 rebounds. Hardin fell three rebounds short of OCU's single-game school record set by Denise Hannah on Feb. 16, 1989 against Phillips.

Hardin, a 6-foot junior from Chickasha, Okla., averages team highs with 13.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.90 steals and 1.45 blocks a game. Hardin ranks fifth in the NAIA Division I in field goal percentage shooting 59.3 percent per game and ranked ninth in rebounding.

Chontaye Walter, a 5-8 junior from Oklahoma City, posted 13 points, sinking three 3-pointers and adding five assists. Breezy Martin, a 5-11 junior from Oklahoma City, had 12 points and four rebounds.

Laura Duncan chipped in 11 points Thursday. Duncan, a 5-8 junior from Edmond, Okla., adds 12.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.70 steals a game.

Chelsea Ledbetter, a 5-8 senior from Norman, Okla., gave out a team-high eight assists. She is ranked ninth in the NAIA in assists, averaging 5.1 per game.

OCU leads the NAIA in assists at 22.5 per game and rebounding margin (16.6 per game). OCU is ranked second in field-goal percentage, shooting 49.3 percent and in rebounds, averaging 46.4 per game.

The Stars are currently ranked seventh in the NAIA Division I. OCU, which has won eight of the last nine league titles, was picked to finish second in the conference.

Southern Nazarene has a 35-26 edge against OCU over the years, although the Stars won 83-56 on Dec. 4, 2008 at Abe Lemons Arena.

ABOUT THE CRIMSON STORM: Southern Nazarene extended their winning streak to eight on Thursday, defeating Mid-America Christian 75-55 at the Gaulke Activity Center. Southern Nazarene (17-3, 10-2 SAC) was led by Kinzie Didier, who posted her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Lana Keith added 14 points and nine rebounds Thursday. Keith, a 5-10 junior, averages 16.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Logan Martin contributed 12 points, five rebounds and five assists. Martin, 5-9 freshman, records 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.35 steals a game.

The Storm is ranked fifth in field-goal percentage in NAIA Division I, shooting 46.5 percent. Southern Nazarene is ranked 14th in the NAIA and were picked to finish fourth in the SAC in the preseason.

ABOUT THE COACHES: Rob Edmisson has an record of 105-18 in his fourth season guiding OCU. Edmisson picked up his 400th career win on Dec. 11. Edmisson, the 2008 SAC coach of the year, led the Stars to SAC regular-season championships two of the three seasons he's been at the OCU helm. Edmisson coached the only player drafted into the WNBA from OCU, Mariam Sy. He won 192 games at Hutchinson (Kan.) and 110 as a high school coach in Kansas.

Lori Carter is in her sixth season at Southern Nazarene after three seasons with St. Gregory's. Carter played for SNU from 1989-92 and was an assistant at OCU from 1996-98 before leading the Storm to the 2004 NAIA championship.
