BETHANY, Okla. ? Southern Nazarene made it a two-game regular-season sweep of Oklahoma City University with an 80-65 victory Thursday at the Sawyer Center.
OCU, ranked 20th in NAIA Division I women?s basketball, dropped to 20-5, 8-5 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. No. 18 Southern Nazarene went to 19-4, 10-2.
Mikelle Brown, a 5-foot-9 junior from Tulsa, Okla., led the Stars with 19 points. Romana Vynuchalova added 18 points and three blocked shots for OCU.
Vynuchalova cut OCU?s deficit to 47-42 with 12:06 remaining in the game with a jumper. Lauran Hart answered a 3-pointer for SNU, which kept OCU at bay the rest of the game.
Southern Nazarene extended their advantage to 15 points late in the game behind 57.1 percent shooting in the second half.
The Stars visit USAO at 6 p.m. Saturday in Chickasha, Okla.
