OKLAHOMA CITY ? Southern Nazarene?s Lashelle Chandler hit the go-ahead free throw with 32 seconds left to lead her team to a 72-68 victory on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena.
OCU?s Alexandra Kotta sank two free throws to give the Stars a 68-67 lead with 47 seconds left.
Chandler added free throws with three seconds left for the final margin. SNU?s Lana Keith had a free throw with nine seconds left.
Zanita Johnson, a 5-foot-7 junior from Tulsa, Okla., had a career-high 26 points for OCU. Chandler had 12 points for SNU.
OCU shot 23 of 68 from the field for the game, 33.8 percent. SNU rode a hot-shooting first half to a 43-38 halftime lead. SNU shot 55.2 percent from the field in the first period.
SNU outscored OCU 40-14 in points off the bench.
The Stars, ranked eighth in NAIA Division I, fell to 14-3, 3-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. SNU improved to 12-3, 3-1.
OCU faces USAO at 6 p.m. Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.
