THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University?s women take on Central Oklahoma, an NCAA Division II team from nearby Edmond, in an exhibition.
ABOUT THE STARS: OCU is 1-0 after opening the season with a 97-36 wipeout of Hillsdale Baptist on Saturday in homecoming.
Alexandra Kotta, a 5-foot-11 senior from Germantown, Md., had 29 points, seven steals and six rebounds in the OCU victory. Kotta was named Sooner Athletic Conference player of the week for her effort.
Mikelle Brown, a 5-9 junior, added 15 points and eight rebounds.
Angela Kalanoska scored 13 points, and
Romana Vynuchalova had 11. OCU set a single-game school record by allowing only eight points in the first half.
The Stars are ranked third in NAIA Division I. OCU and Lubbock Christian (Texas) were tied atop the SAC preseason poll.
ABOUT THE BRONCHOS: Central Oklahoma opens the season with this exhibition with the Stars. Central Oklahoma is expected to finish seventh in the Lone Star Conference North Division after being 7-20 in 2005-06.
Lizzie Brenner, a 5-9 sophomore, was the Lone Star North freshman of the year after recording 10.7 points and 4.8 rebounds a game last season.
ABOUT THE COACHES: Rob Edmisson is in his second season as OCU head coach. Edmisson has a 335-122 record in 16 seasons as a head coach. He coached the Stars to a 32-3 record and the NAIA quarterfinals in 2005-06.
Guy Hardaker is in his first season at Central Oklahoma. Hardaker spent 1994-2006 as Edmond Santa Fe High School boys coach. Edmond Santa Fe went 173-148, winning the 2005 Class 6A state title under Hardaker.
