Two from OCU drafted by MLB teams

Phillies tab Wilson in 32nd round, Yankees grab Cook in 36th round

Dustin Cook has been taken four times in the Major League Baseball Draft.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Dustin Cook and Reggie Wilson were selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
Wilson, a junior center fielder from Beaumont, Texas, became a 32nd-round pick of the Philadelphia Phillies, while Cook, a junior right-handed pitcher from Huffman, Texas, was taken in the 36th round by the New York Yankees.
The Phillies made Wilson the 954th overall selection of the draft. Wilson posted a .374 batting average, 72 runs scored, 79 hits, 15 doubles, seven triples, eight home runs, 42 RBIs, 20 stolen bases and a .983 fielding percentage for the Stars this season. Among the NAIA, Wilson ranked third with 1.31 runs scored per game and sixth in total runs scored.
Wilson reeled in first-team all-Sooner Athletic Conference honors and SAC player of the week for March 16-22.
The Yankees picked Cook with overall choice No. 1,083. Cook had an 8-1 record, 2.30 earned run average, four complete games, a shutout and 77 strikeouts in 74.1 innings. Cook ranked fifth in the SAC in ERA.
Cook took first-team all-conference and SAC pitcher of the week three times this year. Cook had been drafted previously three times. The New York Mets chose Cook in the 12th round in 2012, the Cleveland Indians selected him in the 34th round of the 2013 draft and the Cincinnati Reds made Cook a 20th-round pick in the 2014 draft.
Oklahoma City has produced 152 professional players – 72 of which were chosen in the MLB Draft. The Stars went 46-13, earned the top spot in the NAIA rankings and won the SAC Tournament this year. OCU coach Denney Crabaugh notched career win No. 1,300 on April 17.
