OKLAHOMA CITY – Chad Carman and Steve Vitale of Oklahoma City University were named NAIA baseball all-Americans.
Vitale, a senior third baseman from East Meadow, N.Y., made the second team, while Carman, a sophomore catcher from Midwest City, Okla., became an honorable-mention selection. Brad Riddle also earned an NAIA scholar-athlete award.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Terrance Jackson of Oklahoma City University has been selected by the New York Mets in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
Jackson, a junior from Greenville, Ala., was taken in the 45th round with the 1,352nd pick Wednesday. The draft lists Jackson as a left-handed pitcher, but he also served as OCU’s regular center fielder this year.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Kirk Walker of Oklahoma City University earned the NAIA World Series Gold Glove Award as part of the World Series all-tournament team.
Walker, a junior shortstop from Bakersfield, Calif., posted a .956 fielding percentage, committing 12 errors in 272 chances this season.

LEWISTON, Idaho – Oklahoma City University ended its season with an 8-5 setback to Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) on Tuesday at Harris Field in the NAIA World Series.
Chad Blauer turned in a complete-game, 166-pitch effort for 17th-ranked Point Loma Nazarene (41-19-1) on three days rest after going nine innings Friday. The sixth-ranked Stars finished up 50-16.

LEWISTON, Idaho – Cumberland (Tenn.) popped four home runs in an 8-1 NAIA World Series victory over Oklahoma City University on Monday at Harris Field.
The sixth-ranked Stars (50-15) will face Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) in an elimination game 1 p.m. Central time Tuesday. Second-ranked Cumberland (55-9) moved to a 9 p.m. Tuesday contest.

LEWISTON, Idaho – Oklahoma City University notched its 12th 50-win season in a row with an 8-0 victory over California Baptist on Friday night at Harris Field in the NAIA World Series.
The sixth-ranked Stars improved to 50-14 on the year. OCU has the most wins in the nation in college baseball since 1991 with 1,023. The Stars advanced to a Monday contest vs. Cumberland (Tenn.) at 5 p.m. Central time.

The sixth-ranked Stars (49-12) advanced to the NAIA World Series for the 12th time in the OCU baseball program history. OCU tied for third place in the 2009 NAIA World Series and captured the national championship in 2005.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University posted a convincing 22-4 victory over Jamestown (N.D.) in the winner’s bracket game of the NAIA Championship Opening Round Group 5 Tournament on Wednesday at Jim Wade Stadium.
The Stars, ranked sixth in NAIA baseball, pounded out a season-high 28 hits, and each OCU starter had at least one hit. OCU (48-14) scored in all but one of the nine innings.
