Ryan Wright drove in five runs for the Stars on Saturday. Oklahoma City, ranked fifth in NAIA baseball, moved to 30-8, 13-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The Stars swept a conference opponent for the third time in 2015. OCU has won all five of its league series this year.
Wright, a senior from Fruitland, Idaho, knocked in three runs in the first game. Wright went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, a two-run triple, a stolen base and three RBIs.
Reggie Wilson, a junior from Beaumont, Texas, was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Connor Lynch, a senior from Marietta, Ga., went 2-for-4 with a double for the Stars.
Wright put OCU up 1-0 with a first-inning RBI single. Wright also keyed a four-run fourth inning by smacking a two-run triple to the right-center field gap. Wright scored on Adam Clark's sacrifice bunt, then J.J. Bissell reached home via a passed ball.
OCU went ahead 8-2 with three runs in the sixth. Joe Haddox singled to right to drive in a run, then scored on a wild pitch. Wilson nailed an RBI single to right.
Dustin Cook improved to 7-0 on the season. Cook, a junior right-hander from Huffman, Texas, allowed two runs on six hits and a walk in six innings. Cook had six strikeouts. Grant Hamilton, a junior righty from Oklahoma City, finished on the mound for the Stars.
In the second game, OCU tallied all five of its runs in the sixth. Dylan Delso swatted a run-scoring base hit to right, while Wright added a two-run double along the left-field foul line. Bissell drove in two more runs with a single.
Jared Baker, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., went 3-for-4 and scored a run, while Joe Lytle, a freshman from Yukon, Okla., was 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Stars. Bissell and Wright each knocked in two runs.
Matt Young moved to 6-0 on the year. Young, a sophomore righty from Glendora, Calif., fanned five in 5.1 innings. Young limited Texas Wesleyan to one run on eight hits and a walk. Young struck out Rod Lewis with the bases loaded to end the fifth.
Miguel Gonzalez, a junior right-hander from Los Angeles, worked out of a one-out, bases-full jam in the sixth. Gonzalez retired Dusteyn Suttle on a fly ball to right field, then fanned Jake Howeth with the bases loaded to finish the inning.
