OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University played to a 0-0 draw with No. 2 Baker (Kan.) Saturday at Stars Field.
The match was stopped in the 71st minute due to lightning in the area, but not before the two squads completed the necessary 70 minutes of play. OCU moved to 0-0-1 on the season.
Junior Adam Black, of Liverpool, England, and senior Ryan Hunter, of Tulsa, Okla., each had shots blocked in the first half.
Junior Joe Shulberg, of Huntingdon, England, made a save in the 37th minute to keep the score 0-0 at halftime.
Both teams struggled to mount an attack in the rain-soaked second half, and the match was stopped in the 71st minute due to lightning.
Shulberg made two saves in 70 minutes of work. Black recorded three shots and Hunter recorded one.
The Stars will return to action against Texas-Brownsville at 7 p.m. on Aug. 31 at Stars Field.
