OCU picks up prep setter

Stars add Watson, who led Edmond North to state championship match

OKLAHOMA CITY – Heather Watson of Edmond North has signed with Oklahoma City University to play volleyball.
Watson served as setter on Edmond North's Class 6A state runner-up squad in the fall. She will be playing for the large west squad during the Oklahoma Coaches Association all-state match July 24.
As a senior, Watson posted 3.88 assists, 0.76 digs and 0.24 service aces per set for Edmond North. She became class salutatorian.
“We are so excited that Heather has decided to join our team,” OCU coach Nikki Dieball said. “She has a strong volleyball background and comes from a great family, and I know she will fit in great with our team.”
Watson said, “OCU has a fantastic music program, and the team has great players.”
The Stars open the 2012 season Aug. 24-25 in the Oklahoma City Classic at Abe Lemons Arena.
