OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University invites fans to join the battle against breast cancer in Dig Pink night at the Stars' volleyball match against Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena.
The teams will wear special pink shirts in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. T-shirts will be available for sale at $12 each with proceeds benefiting the Dig Pink Foundation.
Dig Pink takes place in arenas all over the country during October, Breast Cancer Awareness month. The goal for this initiative is to raise funds to go towards research and “living with cancer” organizations. Volleyball teams from all over the nation participate in this Breast Cancer Awareness rally.
The Stars and Crimson Storm will take part in the initiative.
“The cause of fighting breast cancer hits home for us on the OCU volleyball team,” OCU coach Jen Gomez said. “We hope that the university and the community would join us and get behind this worthwhile cause as well as support OCU volleyball.”
