OKLAHOMA CITY – Alex Gang and Stuart Hilton of Oklahoma City University were named men’s soccer all-Americans by the NAIA recently.
Gang, a junior from Seoul, South Korea, and Hilton, a junior from Liverpool, England, were each selected as honorable-mention all-Americans.
Gang scored 22 goals and tallied two assists and 46 points while earning Sooner Athletic Conference offensive player of the year and first-team all-conference honors. Gang has 31 goals and nine assists for his career. He was also a third-team college-division CoSIDA ESPN the Magazine academic all-American and NAIA scholar-athlete.
“Alex had a magnificent season in terms of not only goals that were scored, but he was scoring important goals,” OCU coach Brian Harvey said. “I think he scored five goals that actually won us games.”
Hilton earned all-American honors for the second consecutive year. He scored five goals and dished out three assists and earned first-team all-conference honors. Hilton has 19 goals and eight assists for his career.
The Stars finished the season 15-4-2 and ranked 25th in the NAIA. OCU fell one match short of making its second straight trip to the NAIA Championships.
