Oklahoma City University Athletics

Roman Owen enters his second season as Oklahoma City University assistant coach. He coaches the junior varsity in addition to assisting Morrissey in all aspects of the program.

Owen began coaching last season after a successful four-year playing career at Southwestern Christian in Bethany, Okla.

During his career at Southwestern Christian, Owen was named Pete Maravich player of the year as a senior along with many other honors. He was a three-time National Christian College Athletic Association all-American as well as an NCCAA academic all-American.

Owen was also honored by the Association of Christian College Athletics as a three-time all-American, including ACCA player of the year and academic all-American as a junior.

Owen attained his bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Christian in 2007 and earned his master’s degree in education from the University of Central Oklahoma in summer 2009.

Owen is married (Natalie).
