OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City ended its only losing streak of the season with a 3-1 win over Westcliff on Monday.
 
After a scoreless first half, the Stars set the tone early in the second with Kayleigh Haygood burying a cross from Karima Marhabi just 17 seconds into the final 45 minutes.
 
Marhabi was on the assist end again nine minutes later when Yami Ponce made it 2-0.
 
Jade Flower and Anna Steenbekkers got together for the third OCU goal with Flower finding the net in the 78^th minute.
 
Westcliff spoiled the shutout, scoring with 59 seconds to play.
 
OCU had 19 shots in the game, led by Ponce with four. The Stars had nine shots on goal with Ponce and Reese Roberts accounting for two apiece. Also testing the WU keeper were Haygood, Austin Clift, Wachipi Hamelryk, Makinlee Selph and Flower.
 
Candela Blanco and Gemma Harvey shared keeper duty with Harvey collecting two saves in the second half.
 
OCU opens Sooner Athletic Conference action Saturday, hosting Southwestern Christian at 5 p.m.
