OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City faces its biggest challenge of the season this weekend when Nelson and Texas Wesleyan visit Friday and Saturday.

The Stars host Nelson Friday at 6 p.m. and Texas Wesleyan arrives on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest. Both Nelson and OCU received votes in the last NAIA Top 25 and Texas Wesleyan was the preseason favorite to win the SAC.

OCU rattled off 11 consecutive wins to stand at 11-0 overall and 5-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, setting a school record for the most wins to start a season.

The Stars have claimed three weekly conference awards this season, with
Amber Jones earning Attacker of the Week this week.
Natalie Adams and
Rylie Steward have earned Setter of the Week honors this season as well.

OCU had three players with more than 100 kills each, led by
Kacie Townsend with 114. Jones has 113 and
Grace Smallwood follows at 110. Similarly, the Stars have two setters with more than 125 assists. Adams leads with 292 and Steward has 129.

The Stars have produced 106 aces in 40 sets this season, led by
Kate Cleofe with 21.

Cleofe leads OCU with 143 digs, followed by Smallwood with 129 and Townsend with 104. Jones leads the team with 23 blocks and
Maddie Edwards has 20.

Nelson has won its last seven matches to get to 8-4 overall and 4-0 in the SAC, setting up a Friday match-up for the top spot in the conference standings. Addison Standley leads the Lions with 129 kills.

Texas Wesleyan is 5-7 overall and 2-2 in conference after losing at home to College of the Ozarks and John Brown last weekend. Migdaly Bernal leads the team with 90 kills.
