SILVIS, Ill. – Oklahoma City rocketed to the top of the leaderboard in the second round of the NAIA Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday.

The Stars fired a two-under-par round to take an eight-stroke lead into Thursday's third round of play. OCU had the only sub-par round of the day.

Carter Ray held onto his individual lead to pace the Stars, shooting an even-par 70. Through two rounds, Ray is two under par and leads the field by two strokes. Ray had an eagle on the par-five second hole, covering the 551 yards in three strokes. He also birdied holes three and 12 to give himself six birdies for the tournament.

The rest of the Stars made giant leaps forward, including
Christian Yanovitch who moved up 11 spots to a tie for second. He shot 69 on Tuesday and is even par for the tournament. He had birdies on the 10
th, 13
th and 18
th holes on Wednesday to bring his total to seven.

Jack Newton had the big round for OCU, shooting a two-under 68, which vaulted him 63 spots and into 15
th after his first-round 76. He stands at plus four through two rounds with Wednesday birdies on holes two, three, four, seven and 18. He has seven birdies for the tournament.

Lorenzo Santinelli also catapulted up the standings, going from 65
th to 25
th with his 71 on Wednesday. He is six over for the tournament after getting his first three birdies of the tournament on holes six, seven and 17.

Cameron Bozyk moved up from 78
th to 60
th with a 73 on Wednesday and enters tomorrow's third round at nine over par. He had birdies on holes four, 11 and 18 in the second round to put him at four for the tourney.

Friends moved up four spots to second in the team standings.
