Honors: Oklahoma City had a near-sweep of the Sooner Athletic Conference Track and Field awards this week with
Ayenew Devany,
Isaiah Smith and
Erika Pena earning the honors. Devany took part in the South Plains Alumni Elite and earned a pair of second-place finishes in the two events that he participated in. Devany placed second in the 1500-meter run with an "A" standard time of 3:51.84, which is the fourth fastest time in the NAIA this spring. Devany then placed second in the 5000-meter run with a mark of 14:50.85. Smith also took part in the South Plains Alumni Elite and placed second in the high jump. Smith had a mark of 1.97m, which was good enough for the runner-up position in the event that featured 12 other competitors from around the Midwest. Pena took grabbed a pair of top-three finishes in the two events that she participated in. Pena won the 800-meter run with a mark of 2:14.41, which is the top time in the SAC this spring. Pena then placed third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:44.20, which is also tops in the conference this season.

Meet Schedule: The two-day event divides the events by distance. The 800-, 1500- and 5000-meter races begin Friday at 5 p.m. The sprints and relays are scheduled for Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. The women's throwing events begin at 3 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
