OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City sends 10 athletes to compete in nine events at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Asheville, North Carolina, beginning Wednesday.
 
Four OCU men and six members of the Stars' women's team made the trip for the three-day event.
 
The meet begins for OCU on Wednesday with four preliminary events. Erika Pena, who is ranked sixth in the women's 1500, runs that event at 2:50 p.m. (Central) with eighth-ranked Ayenew Devany to follow in the men's event at 3:10. The women's final is set for 3:10 p.m. on Friday, followed by the men's at 3:20.
 
The women's 4x800, ranked 14^th, has its prelim at 5:15 with Pena, Kenzi Readnour, Isabelle Spiller and Isabella Gutierrez. Riley Randall, Alexander Daly, Devany and Demarion Dean run in the men's 4x800 at 5:50 p.m. The Stars are ranked seventh in the men's event. The finals for the 4x800 are set for 6:10 and 6:35 p.m., respectively, on Thursday.
 
Eleventh-ranked Daly runs the preliminaries of the men's 800 meters at 1:50 p.m. on Thursday with the 4:10 p.m. finals set for Friday.
 
Also on Thursday, Vanessa Perez races in the women's 400-meter prelims at 3 p.m. and is ranked 20^th. Her finals, should she qualify, would be at 3:40 p.m. on Friday.
 
Ranked 14^th, Dean runs in the men's 400 preliminary at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday and could be in the finals, which are at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
 
Kenzi and Keira Readnour are in the finals of the 5000 meters on Friday at 4:35 p.m. Kenzi is ranked ninth and Keira 18^th.
 
Devany wraps up the meet for OCU at 4:55 p.m. on Friday when he runs in the finals of the men's 5000. He is ranked 20^th in the event.
